Tips on Cleaning Your Kitchen When You Prepare House for Sale!


As we all know kitchens can be dirty places but they are an important part of the process whenyou prepare your house for sale. 

If your kitchen needs to get brightened up, a fresh coat of paint will do the trick.  Also consider changing the hardware on your cabinets to make them look modern and make sure to wash them inside and out.

When you preparethe house for sale and would like to use non-toxic cleansers there are air-friendly do-it-yourself cleansers that work great and don’t give off a toxic smell. 

You can find many “recipes” for making your own cleansers that are non-toxic online with common household ingredients such as vinegar and baking soda.  Here are a couple of examples for cleansers when home staging:

Sink Cleaner: Wipe the tub with undiluted white vinegar, then scrub with baking soda and a sponge. Rinse with water.

Drain Cleaner:  Pour 1/2 cup baking soda down the drain, followed by 1/2 cup white vinegar. The mixture will foam up. Let stand for a few minutes, then pour boiling water down the drain to wash out any clogs.  This is something that is recommended every month or two as a preventive measure to avoid clogs.

Simple 3-in-1 Household Cleaner:  Combine 1 cup white vinegar, 2 cups of water, 1 tablespoon dish soap (optional) and 30 drops essential oil into a spray bottle, label it, shake before using.
