As we all know bathrooms can be dirty places but are an important part of staging home for sale. When cleaning people tend to use harsh cleansers to clean and disinfect. Some of these bathroom cleansers can affect the air quality not to mention you are breathing in these gases and toxic fumes emitted from these cleansers.
When you prepare house for sale and would like to use non-toxic bathroom cleansers there are air-friendly do-it-yourself cleansers that work great and don’t give off that toxic smell.
You can find many “recipes” for making your own cleansers that are non-toxic online with common household ingredients such as vinegar and baking soda. Here are a couple of examples:
Tub Cleaner: Wipe the tub with undiluted white vinegar, then scrub with baking soda and a sponge. Rinse with water.
Tub Drain Cleaner: Pour 1/2 cup baking soda down the drain, followed by 1/2 cup white vinegar. The mixture will foam up. Let stand for a few minutes, then pour boiling water down the drain to wash out any clogs. This is something that is recommended every month or two as a preventive measure to avoid clogs.
